The short answer

Midnite has no sister sites. Midnite Limited operates it, and the licence behind it covers one active website, midnite.com, and no other brand. Everything below is therefore about alternatives to Midnite. Midnite's welcome offer is a £10 bet for £30 in free bets, and it is rated 4.0 in our review. The three alternatives we compare for UK players are Ladbrokes at 4.5, Coral at 4.4 and Betfred at 4.1, picked on rating. You should read them as separate bookmakers from Midnite, not as members of one family. Midnite's own 4.0 sits below all three.

The table sets Midnite beside the three alternatives. All four hold an active Gambling Commission licence and accept UK players. Each sports welcome offer is paid in free bets, with a qualifying bet first. Midnite asks for £10 and Betfred for £10 or more, both at odds of 2.0 or longer, while Ladbrokes and Coral ask for £5 at odds of 1/2. Betfred adds £20 in bet builder free bets to its £30 in sports free bets. Ladbrokes and Coral also state a zero wagering requirement.

What carries over to an alternative

If you have self-excluded anywhere, Gamstop covers all four bookmakers here. Each business also runs its own self-exclusion, so one made with a bookmaker is a separate arrangement from the others. An alternative is never a way around a self-exclusion.

Apart from that, an account at Midnite gives you nothing at the others. Midnite lets you hold one account, usable across its own services only, and each alternative is a separate business with its own identity checks, limits and offers.

Ladbrokes and Coral are the one pairing that does connect: their rules stop you opening a new account with one if you already hold one with a brand on the same licence.

Bookmakers to try instead of Midnite

We list the three highest-rated other sites we review. They are Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred, and each is reviewed below as an alternative to Midnite, with its rating and what differs from Midnite.

Ladbrokes

Rating 4.5

Our rating

Pros

  • Best Odds Guaranteed by opt-in, with extra places on selected races
  • Sports welcome offer of £30 in free bets for a £5 bet at odds of 1/2, split across three bet types
  • Cash out, a bet builder, live streaming, acca insurance and odds boosts
  • Active Gambling Commission licence, deposit limits and self-exclusion, a complaints route to an outside body and identity checks
  • Highest maximum payout of £1,000,000 on main win or each-way bets in Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 races in Great Britain

Ladbrokes is rated 4.5, against 4.0 for Midnite, with 5 out of 5 for betting features, account and safety, limits and markets. Its welcome offer is a £5 bet for £30 in free bets, paid as six £5 free bets: four on any sports market, one on a football bet builder and one on a horse racing bet builder. Qualifying odds are 1/2, against 1/1 (2.0) at Midnite, and the bet must go on within 14 days of registration. The free bets last 7 days and the stake is not returned. There is no wagering requirement, though each free bet has to be used in one go.

Check the payment method before registering. Deposits made with Prepaid Cards, Moneybookers, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Apple Pay or Skrill do not qualify for the welcome offer. Google Pay deposits run from £5 to £5,000, and Ladbrokes charges no fee on deposits, though payment processors may add their own. Withdrawals take from instantly to five banking days, depending on the method.

On racing, Best Odds Guaranteed is opt-in: switch it on once and it applies from 8am on the day to all UK and Irish horse racing. Ladbrokes also pays extra places on selected races and offers cash out on selected bets, a Bet Builder+ across football, horse racing and tennis, live streaming, acca insurance up to £10 and odds boosts. Midnite's betting features are cash out, a bet builder and odds boosts.

Limits and reach are higher. The top maximum payout is £1,000,000, on main win or each-way bets in Class 1, 2, 3 and 4 races in Great Britain, against £250,000 at Midnite, and the sports list runs to 33 against Midnite's 27. The app is on Google Play.

Safer gambling tools add a max stake limit and a curfew to deposit limits, Reality Check, time out and self-exclusion. Support is by chat, email or telephone.

1. Upload a passport, driver's licence or national ID when asked, and be ready to show the source of your funds.

2. Read the time shown under your payment method on the withdrawal screen before you confirm.

3. Ask customer services first if a withdrawal stalls, then the line manager if stage 1 does not settle it.

4. Email complaints@ladbrokes.com for stage 3, then take an unresolved dispute to IBAS.

Suits you if you want the highest rating of the four and the largest payout limits.

Coral

Rating 4.4

Our rating

Pros

  • Best Odds Guaranteed by opt-in, with extra places on selected races
  • Sports welcome offer of £30 in free bets for a £5 bet at odds of 1/2, split across three bet types
  • Cash out, a bet builder, live streaming and odds boosts

Coral is rated 4.4, a notch under Ladbrokes and above Midnite's 4.0. It scores 5 out of 5 for account and safety, limits and markets, and 4 for racing value, the welcome offer, betting features, support and mobile. A first £5 bet at odds of 1/2 or longer, placed within 14 days of registration, earns six £5 free bets worth £30 in all. The value is divided across three bet types, as at Ladbrokes, and the free bets expire after 7 days without returning the stake.

Before depositing, note that Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, any pre-payment card and certain debit cards do not qualify for the offer. Coral takes Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pay by Bank, PayPal, paysafecard and bank transfer. Google Pay deposits are instant, with a £5 floor and a £5,000 ceiling, and withdrawals to debit cards or bank accounts carry no charge.

On racing, Coral's Best Odds Guaranteed needs a one-time opt-in and runs from 8am on the day of the event across all UK and Irish horse racing, and a separate guarantee covers all UK greyhound racing. Coral also runs the Coral Racing Club, a free racehorse ownership club, and pays extra places on featured races. Cash out covers pre-match and in-play singles and multiples, and Bet Builder + sits beside live streaming and odds boosters.

Coral also runs a casino. Live casino tables come from Playtech, jackpot networks include Jackpot King, Mega Moolah and WowPot, and exclusives include Joker Fortunes and Big Banker Megaways. The iPhone app is on the App Store. Coral was established in 1926.

Coral lists 34 sports against Midnite's 27. Contact routes are chat, email and telephone, the same as Ladbrokes, and the safer gambling tools match too: deposit limits, max stake limit, curfew, Reality Check, play breaks, time out and self-exclusion.

1. Prepare a passport or driving licence, plus a utility bill or bank statement as proof of address.

2. Withdraw to a debit card or a bank account to avoid a charge.

3. Work through complaint stages 1 to 3 in order, ending with the Coral complaints team at complaints@coral.co.uk.

4. Take the matter to IBAS if it stays unresolved.

Suits you if you bet from an iPhone and want a free route into racehorse ownership.

How the alternatives compare on bonuses, payments, games, support and mobile

On bonuses, the gap is size against stake: Betfred's free bets total £50 for a first bet of £10 or more, while Ladbrokes and Coral return £30 for a £5 bet and Midnite returns £30 for £10.

On payments, Ladbrokes and Coral take the widest range, including PayPal and bank transfer. Midnite takes debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pay By Bank and Revolut Pay, and Betfred takes Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and debit cards. Midnite, Ladbrokes and Coral start deposits at £5, and Betfred's welcome offer needs a deposit by debit card.

On games, Betfred has 2,000+ games and runs bingo rooms and poker beside its casino. Coral names Playtech live tables and several jackpot networks, Ladbrokes shows live roulette with stakes from £0.1 to £1800, and Midnite has Jackpot King and exclusives of its own.

On support, Midnite offers live chat, email and a Telegram bot, Ladbrokes and Coral add telephone to chat and email, and Betfred offers live chat and telephone.

On mobile, Ladbrokes and Coral score 4 out of 5 against 3 for Midnite and Betfred. Coral has an iPhone app on the App Store and Ladbrokes an Android app on Google Play.

Which alternative to Midnite suits you?

Choose Ladbrokes if you want the highest rating of the four, at 4.5, and the £1,000,000 top payout. Choose Coral if you want 34 sports, an iPhone app and the Coral Racing Club. Choose Betfred if you want the biggest free bet total, a casino with 2,000+ games and bingo rooms. Stay with Midnite if its 1/1 (2.0) qualifying bet, casino spins and Telegram support matter more than the extra features elsewhere. Racing bettors should start with Ladbrokes or Coral. If you want the smallest outlay, check the First bet column in the table above. Anyone who pays by PayPal should check the welcome offer exclusions first, as several methods do not qualify.

Does Midnite share an owner with other bookmakers?

No. Ladbrokes and Coral are run by LC International Limited, part of Entain Group, and Betfred by Petfre (Gibraltar) Limited, both different companies from Midnite Limited. Some sites still file other casinos under a sister sites heading for Midnite: casino2022.co.uk lists Casiku, Voodoo Dreams and Megaways Casino that way, while the same page calls Midnite an independent casino with its own licence. A list of sites like Midnite is a list of alternatives, not proof of a shared owner.

Our take

Our verdict on Midnite and its alternatives

Rating 4.0

At 4.0, Midnite scores 3 out of 5 for betting features, limits and mobile in our review, and every alternative here rates higher. Ladbrokes leads on rating, Coral on sports covered and its iPhone app, and Betfred on its £50 in free bets. Pick on the feature you will use most, and keep Midnite if its £30 free bet, 100 free spins and Telegram support suit how you play.

Our take on Midnite and its alternatives

Our team's tests and fact checks decide how we weigh what other sites say about Midnite. Where a site names a different owner, we use the operator in our research and the licence register. The claims about sister sites match our own research, so they change nothing in how we read the evidence. A claim stays a claim until our checks support it, and we say which is which. Scores and margins are other sites' measures on their own scales, so we do not set them against our ratings.

Gambling help for UK players

Gambling is for adults only: you must be 18 or over. If it is causing you harm, call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 in England and Scotland or the NHS Wales Helpline on 0808 2819 265 in Wales, or get support from GambleAware.

Gamstop is the scheme to use if you want to be blocked from every online gambling site licensed in Great Britain at once. Set deposit and loss limits before you play, and stop if gambling stops being something you can afford. An alternative is never a way around a self-exclusion.
